A pedestrian walking along a highway in northern Minnesota was struck by a car and killed late Thursday.
Joshua James Carner, 46, was hit about 11:15 p.m. by a motorist as he walked along Hwy. 210 east of Cypress Drive in Baxter, the State Patrol said.
Carner, of Brainerd, died at the scene, the patrol said.
The driver of a 2007 Honda CRV, identified as 50-year-old Ben Yu Hong, and his 47-year-old passenger Pei Qiong Tang, were not hurt. Both were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
Alcohol did not appear to be a factor, the patrol said.
