Congressman Erik Paulsen has donated the contribution his campaign received in 2012 from the political action committee of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert to a domestic violence prevention organization in Minnesota.

"We are in the process of donating the amount of the contribution to Cornerstone, a non-profit providing services to adults and children impacted by domestic violence," said John-Paul Yates, who serves as Paulsen's campaign manager.

Hastert's Keep Our Mission PAC contributed $1,000 to Paulsen's campaign in 2012.

Paulsen joins other members of Congress who are donating campaign contributions they received from Hastert's PAC after Hastert was convicted of violating federal banking laws in paying hush money to cover-up allegations of sexual abuse.

Last week, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee criticized Paulsen for not returning the contribuition and today they criticized Paulsen again, saying it was "shameful that it took a full year's worth of allegations, plea deals, court hearings, and a prison sentence to shake this money loose from Erik Paulsen's campaign coffers."
