A two-vehicle collision at a southern Minnesota intersection killed a 14-year-old girl and injured three other people, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 4:50 p.m. Thursday at Hwy. 4 and County Road 29 in Brown County, north of Sleepy Eye, the State Patrol said.

According to the patrol:

Maria D. Rodriguez-Becerra, 22, of New Hampton, Iowa, was heading west in a Chevy Malibu on County Road 29 with two younger relatives and collided with a Ford Edge driven by Mary E. Johnson, 24, of Fairfax, Minn.

There are stop signs at the intersection for County Road 29 traffic but not for vehicles on Hwy. 4.

Daisy M. Rodriguez, 14, sitting in the back seat of the Malibu, was killed. She was not wearing a seat belt. Rodriguez-Becerra and passenger Yesenia P. Rodriguez, 17, suffered noncritical injuries. Both were belted in.

Johnson also using a seat belt, survived the impact.
