When watching a movie, it's always a little extra treat when you recognize the places it's been filmed. Get ready for lots of those little treats when the Parkway Theater hosts Cinema Minneapolis, two nights of indie films that were shot here or were made by filmmakers from here.
Promoters are trumpeting it as a "decades-spanning collection of humorous and critically acclaimed" movies. Showtime is 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday's movies are "Lake Street Detective" and "in the wake of a second cook," and Wednesday's lineup is "Driver 23" and "Marvin, Seth and Stanley."
Tickets are $10 at the theater, 4814 Chicago Av. S., Mpls.
