Last weekend's storms caused a delay on bridge work on the Park Avenue bridge in downtown Minneapolis. As a result, lanes on I-94 and I-35W will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and additional closures next week.

Here is when lane closures will be in effect as crews install new beams on the bridge and pour the deck on Portland Avenue Bridge:

Southbound 35W from Hwy. 55 to the I-35W/94 split and the westbound 94 ramp to southbound 35W will be closed at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Westbound 94 from Hwy. 280 to the I-94/35W split will be closed at 10 p.m. Thursday. Also closing at the time willbe the ramps to westbound 94 from southbound 35W, Hwy. 55, Huron Blvd., Franklin Avenue, 25th Avenue and southbound 280.

At 10 p.m. Monday, July 1, eastbound I-94 between the I -35W/94 split and Chicago Avenue and the 5th Avenue (also known as the Franklin Avenue Ramp) ramp from to eastbound I -94, will close.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, northbound I-35W between Hwy. 65 and Park Avenue and the 5th Avenue ramp (also known as the Franklin Avenue Ramp) to northbound I-35W, will close.

In all cases, lanes and ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. on the following day.

During the closures, traffic will be detoured to westbound and eastbound Interstate 694, Highway 280 and northbound and southbound Interstate 35W.

The reconstruction includes installing new bridge decks, railings and bridge beams on both bridges. Reconstructing the approach panels on the north and south sides of each bridge and upgrading pedestrian crossings at the intersections of Park Avenue and Portland Avenue at 17th Street and at 18th Street to meet modern accessibility standards
