Bus commuters using Metro Transit's park-and-ride lot at Rosedale will have to shift gears this week when that lot closes for good at the end of business Wednesday.
However, starting Friday those who use the Rosedale lot can switch to two other Roseville park-and-ride locations: the 460-space parking ramp at Interstate 35W and County Road C, or the Grace Church lot with 170 spaces at Hamline Avenue and County Road B2.
Yet another option will open Dec. 10, when buses begin serving commuters from a 280-space park-and-ride lot at Hwy. 36 and Rice Street in Little Canada.
Rosedale temporarily closed its park-and-ride lot during the 2011 holiday season to accommodate shoppers. This time, the shopping center decided not to renew its lease for the 375 commuter spaces. The closing of Rosedale's park-and-ride lot will have no effect on bus service at its transit center.
