Page 2 2day: Maybe Vikings should beat Packers to retiring Favre's number

The Packers announced they are officially unveiling Brett Favre's retired No. 4 before their Thanksgiving game against Chicago.

That led others to suggest that the Vikings should beat Green Bay to the punch and retire Favre's jersey here in a ceremony Nov. 22 — four days before that game at Lambeau — when the Vikings host the Packers.

I'm officially obsessed with this idea — not because it would ever happen and not even because the Vikings would or should consider retiring Favre's jersey. It's just hard to beat a good rivalry, and this would take it to another level.
