There is usually plenty of anticipation each season leading up to the two meetings between the Vikings and Packers. But it will be interesting to see if that's the case this week.

While Green Bay fans have plenty of reason to be excited about their 6-3 team as it returns from its bye week, the Vikings have fallen to 3-6 and at this point there doesn't seem to be much confidence from outside Winter Park that they can rebound.

Last year, the Packers-Vikings games were both huge because Brett Favre was going against his former team for the first time. The national networks are still paying plenty of attention to these games. The Vikings' loss at Lambeau Field last month was a Sunday night game on NBC and this Sunday's game will be carried by Fox with its No. 1 team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

But there is a big difference between trying to force hype and actually having it exist.

The Vikings will resume practice today and it will be interesting to see what the mood around the team is like. What few players we saw Monday seemed pretty downcast the day after they lost to the Bears but certainly guys have to realize that if their season isn't already over it will be if they fall to Green Bay.

Coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre will address the media late this morning at Winter Park and will hopefully also get some reaction from those who elect to enter the locker room during the access period.
