With spring ball around the corner, Gophers coach P.J. Fleck announced Friday a few tweaks to his coaching staff.

Assistant coaches Kenni Burns (running backs), Brian Callahan (offensive line) and Matt Simon (wide receivers) earned some title changes in addition to their current roles. Burns is now assistant head coach, Callahan is the run game coordinator and Simon is the pass game coordinator.

Fleck also added Desmond Morgan (special teams quality control), Dustin Krause (defensive graduate assistant) and Jacob Niedermann (assistant strength and conditioning coach) to his staff. Morgan previously worked at Maryland, and Niedermann at Elon and Harvard. Krause worked with the Gophers last year as a volunteer.

Also of note, the Gophers garnered another commit Thursday. Defensive tackle C.J. West from La Grange Park, Ill., announced his verbal commitment on Twitter. The member of the 2020 class is 6-2, 305 and plays for Nazareth Academy.
