Since the ’70s when Prince was a newcomer to the music scene, through his heyday in the ’80s, and on past his feud with his record label and resurgence as a more approachable artist in the past few years, the Star Tribune has been there, reporting on and photographing our biggest homegrown celebrity.
In light of Prince's death, our photo editors went digging through the Star Tribune archives, selecting 15 superlative Prince portraits and concert images from nearly 40 years of coverage.
Want to see our finest photos of the artist? Stop by the lobby of the Star Tribune Building in downtown Minneapolis. Our gallery is free and open to the public.
