Oscars: Songs out. Horrible dance numbers in?

Oscar producer Adam Shankman dropped a bombshell a couple of days back, telling the best original song nominees that they won't be showcased in the traditional big production number. Musical artists are reportedly stewing over the loss of their turn in the spotlight. So what is it that Shankman, a longtime choreographer, has in mind for the dance numbers? Some expect him to recruit past contestants from "So You Think You Can Dance?" the Fox TV show that employs Shankman as a choreographer and judge. If so, here's a sample of what he responds to. Be afraid, very, very afraid.
