A person was shot in north Minneapolis Friday night and taken by ambulance to a hospital, according to scanner reports.

The victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, according to a police spokeswoman. She said the victim's condition was unknown as of just before midnight.

The shooting, at 36th and Queen avenues N., was reported to police around 11 p.m. ShotSpotter technology also detected several shots fired in the area. According to scanner reports, the victim was a female who was shot in the chest.

As midnight approached, police investigators canvassed the area, finding shotgun shells in the 3500 block of Penn Avenue S., according to scanner reports.

Another shooting, in the 4600 block of Camden Avenue N., was reported about 45 minutes later. Emergency medical services were called to treat a male victim there.
