In judging held Saturday afternoon, Minnesotan James Hautman won the 2017 federal duck stamp art competition. His painting shows a trio of Canada Geese. This win makes 12 first-place winners for the three Hautman brothers in the past 25 years. Robert Hautman took third place this year with his painting of a pair of Canada Geese.

Now, if you read this note earlier this evening you found different information. My source, always reliable, got names and paintings mixed up. Therefore, my first note had errors corrected above. At least we kept it in the same family.
