One man is dead and another under arrest after a shooting in Brooklyn Center on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police arrived near the intersection of 66th Avenue N. and Camden Avenue at 2:35 p.m. and found a man with at least one gunshot wound unconscious in his vehicle, said Cmdr. Rick Gabler.

Officers performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity wasn't released.

Investigators located a suspect nearby within a few hours of the shooting, Gabler said. The suspect has been arrested and booked into jail. "We believe he's the lone suspect," Gabler said.

Authorities say that they have yet to recover a gun but that they are still investigating.

Several nearby businesses, including two gas stations and a strip mall, closed temporarily after the killing, police said.
