One dead in Minneapolis shooting

A man was shot to death late Sunday night after what police described as a disagreement.

The shooting took place in the Cedar-Riverside area near the University of Minnesota on Sunday night about 10:45 p.m. near the Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Av. S., according to Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder, who confirmed that the victim died after being transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Elder said officers at the scene provided first aid but that the shooting victim. He said the victim was a man and that the shooting did not appear to be random. He said witnesses and bystanders said the incident appeared to be a disagreement.

No arrests were made and no suspect information was released.
