Eric Abojei, an offensive tackle from Robbinsdale Cooper who planned to sign with the Gophers in February before hitting an academic snag, announced Tuesday night that he is heading to Wyoming.
The 6-5, 310-pound Abojei is a consensus three-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 2 player in Minnesota for the Class of 2017 behind Blaise Andries, a Marshall offensive lineman and current Gopher.
Abojei announced his Wyoming decision on Twitter, saying, in part: "Many of you know my situation that has been occurring with the University of Minnesota, which created a slight hold on things. Despite this, I thank them for all they have done."
