On the move

Fish & Richardson named Kristin McKinney chief professional development officer. McKinney was director of professional development and engagement at Faegre Baker Daniels and serves on the board for the National Association for Law Placement.

Winthrop & Weinstine, Minneapolis, named Betsy Schmiesing shareholder in its regulatory and environmental practice. Schmiesing was an in-house attorney for Optum and serves on the board for Great River Greening. She is a former chairwoman of the Minnesota State Bar Association's environmental and natural resources law section.

United Properties, Bloomington, named Bruce McGrath chief risk officer. McGrath was executive vice president and chief regional credit officer for UMB Financial.

Minnesota Historical Society, St. Paul, named Joe Horse Capture director of American Indian initiatives effective Dec. 5. Horse Capture was a curator for the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian and worked for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Moving up

The Opus Group, Minnetonka, named Leith Dumas vice president and Luke Albers senior project manager for Opus Design Build.

Anchor Bank, St. Paul, named Tim Raymond senior vice president, bank manager of its Eden Prairie location. Raymond joined the bank in 2015 and served on the board for TwinWest Chamber of Commerce.

Honors

The Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals gave Warren Staley, retired chief executive of Cargill, and his wife Mary Lynn Staley, former public school teacher, the Outstanding Philanthropists Award.

The National Rehabilitation Association's Job Placement Division gave Frank Herd the Margaret E. Fairbairn Placement Award. Herd is a career counselor for Resource.

Associated General Contractors of Minnesota gave Larry McGough the Lifetime Achievement Award. McGough is a former chief executive and co-founder of McGough Construction.
