NEW DELHI — An Oman Air plane made an emergency landing in India on Saturday because of a bomb scare during the flight, an airport official said.

The plane landed without incident at the Mumbai airport, and the passengers disembarked safely.

The official said the flight was headed to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Muscat. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media.

The pilot requested an emergency landing, and the aircraft was diverted to an isolated bay at the airport upon landing.

No other details were immediately available.
