Ghost the Musical

Opens Sat.: Hopefully, this revival will be better than the tour that crashed into the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis in 2014, an ill-fated production beset by glitches. With songs by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and Glen Ballard, who co-wrote and produced hits by Alanis Morissette, Michael Jackson and many others, the show is adapted from the 1990 film starring Whoopi Goldberg as a spiritual medium who reunites a couple (Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze) after the man dies. For this resurrection, Eric Morris directs a big cast that includes Heather McElrath in the Goldberg role and Mollie Fischer and Frank Moran as the couple. The show has projections and special effects designed by Miko Simmons — after all, the ghost is supposed to walk through walls. (7:30 p.m. Sat. and Thu.-Fri., 2 p.m. Sun., 1:30 p.m. Wed. $30-$40. Ends Sept. 23. Old Log Theatre, 5185 Meadville St., Greenwood. 952-474-5951, oldlog.com.)

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
