NEW YORK — Up-and-coming rapper Bobby Shmurda has been arrested in New York City in a gun and narcotics investigation.
Authorities said Wednesday that Shmurda was apprehended after leaving a Manhattan recording studio. Several others were also taken into custody.
They are named in an indictment that will be unsealed after their arraignments Thursday.
The Brooklyn-born Pollard is best known for the hit song "Hot Boy." One of his videos also popularized a dance move called the "Shmoney dance."
His real name is Ackquille Pollard.
The name of his attorney wasn't immediately available.
