Nuthatch nest furnishing won't fit through the door

An ambitious attempt by the optimistic bird

Ever tried to move a large piece of furniture into your house only to find that it would not fit through the door? We have an optimistic and energetic White-breasted Nuthatch working on a nest in a tree cavity that is about 15 feet from our deck. It had that furniture problem this moving. It struggled for a few minutes to drag a large strip of wood into the nest hole, then lost its grip, the wood dropping away. We hope it works with smaller pieces of nesting material, and moves in, which will give us perfect views of the nesting cycle.
