Star Tribune's Three Stars

1. Jake Evans, Notre Dame: The senior captain scored two goals, including the winner with 3.7 seconds left in the third period, and had an assist, rallying the Fighting Irish from a 2-0 deficit early in the second period.

2. Jordan Gross, Notre Dame: The senior defenseman from Maple Grove had two assists, a game-high six shots and was a plus-2.

3. Tony Calderone, Michigan: The senior right winger scored the Wolverines' first goal, assisted on their second and was a plus-2.

By the numbers

3-2 Record between the teams this season, with Thursday's victory by the Fighting Irish being the difference. Four of the five games were decided by one goal.

3 All three of Notre Dame's NCAA tournament victories this year have been in the final 30 seconds of regulation or in overtime.

15-7 Shots on goal in favor of Notre Dame in the second period, when the Fighting Irish rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
