This is normally a forum where you come for information about residential real estate, but I thought it was worth noting that the American Academy of Neurology is getting a new home in the Minneapolis Mill District just across the street from the Guthrie Theater and the Mississippi River. And the groundbreaking for the project happened last week under a bright white tent even though construction on the project began several weeks ago. The building is a big deal for several reasons. With 63,000 square-feet of space, the city says that it's the "most substantial" office building to go into the ground in nearly a decade. The building is being built on a key piece of land across from the theater that was once an ill-fated condo project. And the building will be the international headquarters for an organization that's sure to attract a significant number of people to shop and eat in the city for various meetings and gatherings. Completion is scheduled for early 2012.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
