Tree will be lit Saturday at City HallAnoka will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the City Hall Plaza.

The event will include bonfires, music, horse-drawn trolley rides, Santa's arrival at 5:15 p.m. and more. The tree will be lit at 6 p.m.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS

Movie fundraiser for Library FoundationThe Alfred Hitchcock film "The Trouble with Harry" will be shown at the Heights Theater on Sunday as a fundraiser for the Columbia Heights Library Foundation.

First Four will perform at 1 p.m., and the movie will follow at 1:30. In addition, a silent auction with a mystery theme will be held. Tickets are $10, and proceeds will help to build a new library.

Camden Music School sing-along is SaturdayCamden Music School will hold its eighth annual Holiday Concert & Sing-Along, Craft and Bake Sale on Saturday at CMS/Camden, 3751 Sheridan Av. N. in Minneapolis.

The event begins at 4 p.m., and both singers and "just listeners" of all ages are welcome. In addition to the sing-along selections, there will be several performances by local musicians, a song or two for small kids, and a mass chorus of Handel's "Messiah."

All proceeds from the bake and craft sales will go to the CMS Scholarship Fund to provide tuition assistance to individuals and families. The Scholarship Fund is a sponsored project of Our Neighborhood Works, www.our neighborhoodworks.com.

Band donations top expectationsThe Nov. 16 "Beatlemania" concert held to raise funds for new uniforms for the Robbinsdale Cooper Marching Band brought in more than $15,000, organizers said.

Prostate cancer group to meet Dec. 5A prostate cancer support group will meet at 5:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Dec. 5, at North Memorial Outpatient Center, 3435 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale. This will be a combined November and December meeting.

Members and caregivers will review 2012, share their personal journeys with prostate cancer and plan for 2013. All ideas and suggestions are welcome.
