After yet another north Minneapolis homicide, a group of community members representing Centered On Youth, an outreach service with a goal of saving and cultivating the lives of youth from all walks of life, marched along West Broadway on Monday and called for an end to the violence. Service member Rodney Shores, top photo, greeting Willow Avenue resident Katherine Hanson, was among those participating in the demonstration. A North Side community cleanup led by COY Founder Jerome Copeland also took place, with about 20 men and young people — like 10-year-old Zaontre Blanks, right, holding Malachi Robinson, 5 — helping to beautify the North Side.
