Theft. A catalytic converter was taken from a vehicle in the 14700 block of Lake Drive NE.

MARCH 8

Drunken driving. A 57-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving after she drove her vehicle into a ditch in the 5900 block of Pine Street NE.

FRIDLEY

MARCH 11

Animal complaint. An officer responded to a report of a squirrel stuck in a chimney at a home in the 1400 block of 76th Avenue NE. The officer assisted firefighters in rescuing the squirrel, which appeared to be unharmed and was released outside.

Check welfare. Officers responded to a report of a woman yelling in her apartment in the 5800 block of NE. 2nd Street. They located the woman, who said she was yelling because she couldn't get her rings off her fingers. She refused medical attention and told officers she would take care of it.

LAUDERDALE

MARCH 2

Traffic. Police saw a driver and passenger change seats in a vehicle with its flashers on near Hwy. 280 and Larpenteur Avenue. They arrested a 38-year-old man for giving false information to police, operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to transfer title, driving after revocation, expired registration and a Hennepin County warrant. They also arrested and cited a 25-year-old woman for violation of an instructional permit.

MARCH 1

Suspicious activity. A resident in the 100 block of Wedgewood Drive called authorities about a man she had never seen before who came to her door and asked for a rope or bungy cord to help tie down a mattress.

MARCH 11

Theft. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2700 block of Mounds View Boulevard. They arrested the driver, a 33-year-old St. Paul man, for possession of a stolen license plate and displaying a stolen license plate, and also arrested a passenger, a 39-year-old Ramsey man, on an Anoka County warrant for animal cruelty.

NEW BRIGHTON

FEB. 26

Theft. Two pairs of sunglasses valued at $300 were taken from two unsecured vehicles in the 2000 blog of Tioga Boulevard.

MARCH 3

Possession of stolen property. A 47-year-old man was arrested in the area of Old Hwy. 8 and Campus Drive after police stopped him for displaying stolen license plates.

MARCH 1

Drugs. A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle after being stopped for a burned-out brake light at Bunker Lake and Armstrong boulevards.

MARCH 10

Theft. Two cartons of cigarettes were stolen from Freedom Valu Center, 3810 Silver Lake Road NE.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

FEB. 28

Suspicious activity. A homeowner returning from vacation reported footprints and chalk line string on their property in the 10000 block of Otchipwe Avenue. Authorities found the footprints did not lead to the house and believed the string was likely from a kite.
