Theft. A man was arrested and cited for theft after fleeing with merchandise he had attempted to buy with a credit card at a gas station in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue.

Assist family. Officers responded to a report of an argument at a home in the 7300 block of NE. Taylor Street between a 50-year-old man and his 52-year-old girlfriend. He felt that she had too many cats. Officers mediated the dispute.

JAN. 26

Assist family. Officers mediated a dispute between a mother and her 11-year-old daughter at a home in the 1200 block of Cheri Lane NE. The daughter was upset because her mother was limiting the amount of time she could spend on their video game system.

Disturbance. Several people in the 1200 block of Century Avenue were warned after police received a complaint about them arguing loudly while watching a Democratic Party presidential debate.

Theft. A snowblower was stolen from a trailer in the 2500 block of County Road I.

Property damage. Someone put jelly inside an unlocked vehicle in the 14000 block of NW. Krypton Street.

Suspicious person. Someone reported a male wearing an orange jacket and black pants walking across yards in the 16300 block of NW. Yttrium Street. Officers located the male, who was looking for a missing puppy.

ST. ANTHONY

Burglary. Several pairs of sunglasses valued at more than $2,000 were stolen from St. Anthony Eye Clinic, 2929 Pentagon Dr. Officers noticed the business door was open after hours. Forced entry was gained through a back door.

Drugs. A 17-year-old boy was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana at St. Anthony High School, 3303 33rd Av. NE. His parents were notified.

Drunken driving. A 20-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for refusing to submit a breath test, drunken driving and driving after suspension after he struck a utility pole in the 2800 block of Silver Lane.

Suspicious activity. A horse owner in the 23000 block of Paris Avenue reported that the animal was bleeding from a wound above its nose and thought that it might have been shot. A veterinarian later determined the horse likely rubbed against a nail or something like it.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

Person in the water. Members of four area safety and emergency units responded to a report of a person in the St. Croix River in the area of 9400 St. Croix Trail. It was determined that the possible body was a log floating in the river.

WOODBURY

Suspicious activity. An officer saw a man run under a tree in the 6000 block of Hudson Road at 1:30 a.m. The man said he was hiding from his wife, with whom he had been arguing. He stated that he was not afraid of her, and was given a ride home.
