Shooting complaint. A deputy checking on a report of a shooting around 31st Street near the Afton Marina found a family setting off legal fireworks and not violating the noise ordinance.

AUG. 15

Vehicle vs. cow. Two cows were hit by a vehicle on Manning Avenue south of 110th Street. A deputy assisted with traffic control while state troopers attended to the accident. One of the cows was dispatched.

FRIDLEY

AUG. 6

Suspicious activity. Officers responded to the 6500 block of Lucia Lane NE. regarding someone wandering through yards and looking at meters. A male employed by CenturyLink was working on cables.

AUG. 7

Suspicious person. Someone reported a female in a sundress wandering around near 46th Avenue NE. and 2nd Street NE. The woman told officers she was trying to acquire a free Wi-Fi signal.

AUG. 13

Child endangerment. Officers responded to a home on the 500 block of Dover Street NE. regarding two unsupervised children. Officers found two unclothed children playing in the front yard. The 26-year-old father was arrested for child neglect and possession of narcotics.

Neighbor dispute. A woman from the 500 block of Janesville Street NE. reported she was upset because her neighbor across the street refused to take down Christmas lights hanging in her window. The caller was advised to close her curtains.

AUG. 15

Domestic. A woman living in the 5900 block of 3rd Street NE. reported that her husband refuses to give her the keys to her car. The husband was upset because she took his tools. An officer advised them to compromise, but the woman said she couldn't as long as her husband was sleeping with other women.

Theft. Approximately $200 in change was taken from the food and coffee vending machines in the Nordic Center at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Av. N.

AUG. 14

Theft. A 10-year-old boy was apprehended after he was caught stealing a cellphone charger from Walgreens, 9273 Lake Dr. He was taken home and left in the custody of a relative.

AUG. 18

Scam report. A resident in the 14000 block of 131st Street reported receiving a voice mail from someone claiming to be from the IRS telling them they owed money and that a deadline was coming due.

NEW BRIGHTON

AUG. 13

Damage to property. Large rocks were thrown through vehicle windows in the 1900 block of 17th Avenue and the 1700 block of 19th Avenue.

AUG. 18

Theft. A female received a ride from two males she didn't know well and who drove off with her purse and its contents in the 800 block of 3rd Street.

Compliment. A man called the Sheriff's Department to thank it for taking care of his issue quickly.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

Neighbor complaint. A resident in the 1400 block of Neal Avenue told authorities his neighbor had set up cameras pointed at his property.
