Suspicious situation. A person was reported sitting in a chair along 40th Street between Northbrook Boulevard and McDonald Drive. Authorities discovered that lawn chairs were being given away in the area but found no one sitting in them.

Burglary. Jewelry was stolen from a home in the 11800 block of Emery Village Drive.

EAST BETHEL

MARCH 9

Theft. A bag containing makeup was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 23700 block of Highway 65 NE.

FRIDLEY

MARCH 15

Weapon. An officer responded to a report of a firearm found in a restroom at Applebee's, 5277 Central Av. NE. The officer brought the handgun, which was loaded, to the evidence room at the police department and requested information on the owner from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms.

MARCH 16

Theft. An officer responded to a report of a 911 hang-up call in the 7300 block of NE. Van Buren Street. A man told the officer that a prostitute he had allowed to use his car had taken items from it without his permission.

Check welfare. An officer responded to a report of a 911 hang-up call at a home in the 200 block of NE. Liberty Street. A female said that her child had inadvertantly dialed 911 while playing with the phone.

GRANT

MARCH 6

Suspicious activity. Authorities arrested a man they found in a home in the 8000 block of Lake Elmo Avenue after checking a report of fresh footprints found around the residence. The man, who had methamphetamine in his possession, was in violation of no-contact and trespass orders.

LAUDERDALE

MARCH 6

Tamper with vehicle. Someone rummaged through a vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Fulham Street, but no loss or damage was reported.

MARCH 10

Traffic. Police arrested a 35-year-old man for drunken driving and speeding in the area of Hwy. 280 and Larpenteur Avenue.

NEW BRIGHTON

MARCH 4

Drunken driving. Officers stopped to provide roadside assistance to a driver and wound up arresting the driver for third-degree drunken driving, in the 1500 block of Old Hwy. 8.

Theft. A tuba and steel guitar were stolen from a storage unit in the 200 block of 5th Street.

ST. ANTHONY

MARCH 14

Theft. A 2007 Toyota Corolla was stolen from the 3800 block of Highcrest Road. The owner had left her vehicle running to warm it up.

Theft. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at Culver's, 4004 Silver Lake Road.

MARCH 18

Public intoxication. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated woman at Cub Foods, 3930 Silver Lake Road. The 32-year-old woman submitted to a preliminary breath test, which yielded a reading of .35 alcohol concentration. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

MARCH 7

Suspicious activity. A man with a backpack reportedly tried to sell drugs to a juvenile in the area of 10th Street and Orwell Avenue.
