APPLETON, Minn. - Authorities say they have exhausted all their leads in the apparent abduction of a female in western Minnesota.

The Swift County sheriff's office says authorities have not identified a victim in the case and are expanding their search into surrounding states.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a crime alert which says a young female was abducted by at least three people in a dark-colored SUV in Appleton about 8 p.m. Monday.

The BCA says a white, heavy-set man wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and dark pants got out of the SUV during the abduction. Investigators say at least two others were in the SUV, which was last seen heading south on Highway 7.

Anyone with information is asked to call Appleton police or the Swift County sheriff's office.
