MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Averee Fields scored 23 points and Bria Holmes added 17 as No. 23 West Virginia beat IPFW 82-48 on Saturday, remaining unbeaten at home.

Linda Stepney had a career-high 11 assists and her first double-double, finishing with 13 points. Fields led West Virginia with 17 points at the half, and finished on 11-of-19 shooting.

The Mountaineers (8-1) shot 60 percent and 5 of 7 (71.4 percent) from behind the arc in the first half to lead 47-28 at the break. The Mastodons (4-6) opened up the second half with a 9-2 run to close within 12 points, but could not get closer and went 4:44 midway through the second half without scoring a basket.

Keanna Gary led IPFW with 12 points and eight rebounds. The Mastodons had 23 turnovers and finished with just two steals.
