He continues to outpoll Emmer, as Horner continues to lag

UPDATED: A new poll by SurveyUSA, commissioned by TV station KSTP, shows that the Minnesota race for governor remains tight, with DFLer Mark Dayton holding a modest lead over Republican Tom Emmer. That's consistently been the case in other recent polls.

The new poll shows Dayton with the support of 42 percent of likely voters, with Emmer supported by 37 percent. That small gap is within the poll's margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Independence Party nominee Tom Horner was supported by 14 percent of those polled, also in line with other recent polls showing he hasn't cracked the 20 percent level he has said he needs to forge a path to victory.

Dayton's lead over Emmer has increased slightly since the previous SurveyUSA poll of the race.

The polling firm interviewed 712 likely voters Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
