As expected, the Gophers list quarterback Philip Nelson as questionable on this week's injury report, which was released earlier today. Nelson left last week's game with a right hamstring injury.

He practiced this week and was able to hand off and throw passes, but Coach Jerry Kill noted that Nelson "didn't have that burst" on his runs.

Mitch Leidner is expected to make his first career start on Saturday against San Jose State, with true freshman Chris Streveler available as a backup, if needed.

San Jose State's top receiver, Noel Grigsby, didn't make the trip after sustaining an injury in practice this week, as reported here by the Mercury News.

Here's a link to the Gophers' two-deep roster and injury report. Check back tomorrow for pregame, halftime and postgame updates.
