Fast Eddie

Can Eddie Redmayne join Spencer Tracy and Tom Hanks as the only performers to win back-to-back Oscars for Best Actor? I can't vouch for his work in "The Danish Girl" (although it's fairly clear that Leo DiCaprio has front-runner status), but it doesn't take a theoretical physicist to see the academy got it right by honoring the young actor for his work in "The Theory of Everything," a biopic with so much heart that it never feels like a history lesson. 5:55 p.m. HBO

Money can't buy me love

Richard Dreyfuss has been playing smug egomaniacs for so long that it's easy to assume his role as Ponzi puppeteer Bernie Madoff in "Madoff" was as routine as using an ATM. Of course, squeezing charm out of a stone who operated a $50 billion scheme is anything but basic science, and the Oscar-winning actor does an impressive job of convincing viewers that greed, while it may not be "good," is somewhat understandable. But Dreyfuss' talent can't help this four-hour miniseries capture the financial world's thrills of victory and agonies of defeat. 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, KSTP, Ch. 5.

Dinner bell

For the second season of "Dinner at Tiffani's," actress Tiffani Thiessen serves up grub to Daisy Fuentes, Cheri Oteri and former "Saved by the Bell" co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Charming, but would it kill you, Tiffani, to leave a doggie bag on the back porch for Mr. Belding? 7 p.m. Cooking Channel
