Chris Klieman, whose teams are 54-6 since he took over as North Dakota State's head football coach in 2014, has been given a two-year contract extension that extends his deal through the 2023 season.
The news was reported Thursday morning by the Forum newspapers, which are headquartered in Fargo.
The Bison are the defending Football Championship Subdivision champions in Division I and also won national titles under Klieman in 2014 and 2015. He also served as an assistant to head coach Craig Bohl on three other national championship teams at NDSU.
Klieman took over after Bohl left NDSU to become head coach at Wyoming.
