The Southern Theater's 2010-11 season of performing arts has been announced. It includes theater, music and dance.

In music, curated by Kate Nordstrom, the season includes Ben Frost and Tim Hecker (Sept. 17 & 18); a three-date series devoted to songwriting, in collaboration with Adam Levy; the SPCO-MN Orch. chamber group Accordo; Interational Contemporary Ensemble; DJ/rupture; Quartet New Generation, Doveman and cellist Nadia Sirota; and Gabriel Kahane with cellist Alisa Weilerstein (pictured below).

In dance, curated by Laurie Van Wieren, there will be both Twin Cities and touring companies in performances that include 27 choreographers and 14 world premieres. Those on the schedule include Zenon, Ananya, James Sewell (pictured below), Arena, Stuart Pimlser, and Shapiro & Smith.

In theater, curated by Jon Ferguson, the season includes shows by Theater Novi Most, Dominique Serrand & Steve Epp, a new laugh-athon called Brouhaha Comedy Festival, Hardcover, Four Humors, a new show by Ferguson and John Heimbuch, and a collabaration between Black Label Movement and The Woyzeck Project.

Film offerings include the Sound Unseen festival in October and the Dance Film Project in December.
