'learning to drive'
Opening today: Patricia Clarkson is a self-absorbed New York book critic who must learn to drive after her husband/chauffeur leaves her. Guess she hasn't heard of the subway. To teach her, she turns to Darwan (Ben Kingsley), who in the course of the lessons reveals he is contemplating an arranged marriage to a stranger. Will they "take the wheel" in their own lives? The film (rated R for language and sexual content) wasn't screened for critics, so we're driving blind here. Check startribune.com for a review. (Uptown Theatre)
