The tarp is down here at Target Field as a light drizzle falls. I'm no weatherman but I feel I can give it a shot based on how often the ones on TV swing and miss.

(Hold the Al Roker jokes, please)

It's raining now, but it looks like there's a window to start this game on time. Looking at the radar, there's a line of storms just moving out of the Dakotas. That's our next problem. How soon that band gets here will determine how crummy of a day we might have.

The Twins have lost three straight games, and send rookie Liam Hendriks to the mound today against the Brewers. I'm curious to see how he does. He has the talent to become a mid-rotation starter, but he has to establish his fastball early.

Justin Morneau said after last night's game that his left forearm is still sore but would see how it feels today before trying anything.

If you're interested, Twins 10th round pick D.J. Baxendale is pitching for Arkansas today in the College World Series. Here's a preview.

Will check back later with lineups and updates.

UPDATE: Twins catcher Joe Mauer  reported a sore hamstring early in Friday's game. He felt better today but the Twins decided to keep him out of the starting lineup. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire hoped Mauer could play on Sunday.  Ryan Doumit will start behind the plate. Josh Willingham is the designated hitter, as Gardy pointed out that it's good to give Willingham a DH day since he's had knee surgery in the past.

Justin Morneau is back at first base after missing Friday's game with a sore left forearm.

Darin Mastroianni is in left field today, giving the Twins plenty of speed in the outfield with Denard Span and Ben Revere.

UPDATE II: I have been informed by FSN's Marney Gellner that it's an insult to all North and South Dakotans to refer to the region as, "The Dakotas." I apologize and will never do it again.
