The music won't stop playing on Twin Cities Public Television.

The state legislature has agreed to provide the state's six public TV stations with $7.9 million over the course of two years from the Legacy Fund. That's a slight increase from the $7.4 million that was approved for the last two-year cycle.

Managers from the six stations will meet in June to decide how to divide the money.

Dianne Steinbach, TPT's senior director of arts and cultural media, expects that the St. Paul-based station will most likely use the money to do more community engagement and more episodes of "Lowertown Line."

The inaugural episode of the musical series featured Duluth band Trampled By Turtles earlier this year. A second, with Minneapolis rapper Brother Ali, was taped May 15.

Steinbach thinks the money will help finance two episodes each year.
