Everyone has been saying that the ‘80s are back because we’ve seen an influx of frozen yogurt places here in the Cities, as well as outstate.
Your blogger doesn’t think the return of the ‘80s is necessarily a bad thing. Good: Big hair, and various bands, including New Order, the English Beat and the Psychedelic Furs. Bad: Zubaz pants. (Google them, folks. I'm from Philly, where they're considered formalwear.)
At any rate, the yogurt boom is fast and furious in our midst -- with Oklahoma-based CherryBerry Yogurt Bar opening three new outlets in Lakeville, Inver Grove Heights and Red Wing, according to Mid-America Real Estate, whose retail specialist Patrick Daly brokered the deals.
CherryBerry features low- and non-fat yogurt and lactose-free sherberts, along with a toppings bar. There are 12 locations in Minnesota already, nine of them in the Twin Cities, according to the company's website. And more are planned.
Part of Beautiful Brands International, a fast-casual restaurant company, CherryBerry joins other yogurt concepts locally, including TuttiFrutti, Menchie’s, FreeStyle and Yogurt Lab, among others.
