Absent kickers, a serious injury, lots of first-rate facilities.

Some postgame tidbits from Jefferson's 43-0 victory at Chanhassen tonight ...

--Jefferson junior offensive lineman Mitch Brinkhaus -- there's a name familiar to Jefferson and Gophers football fans -- suffered a broken ankle in the third quarter. He was down on the field for a long time being tended to and left the field on a cart. That's a bad break (no pun intended).

--The Jaguars were lousy on extra-point kicks. Turns out their top two kickers were missing because they were playing in a soccer game.

--Jefferson had two touchdowns called back because of penalties.

--As I wrote in my column from the game, Chanhassen has a fantastic football facility in a georgous setting. The campus is huge, with first-rate athletic facilities everywhere you look.
