Maya Moore took one more step towards a possible MVP award by being the WNBA's Western Conference player of the month for the second straight month. In the Eastern Conference, Chicago Center Sylvia Fowles got the award, also her second straight.
Moore, who was named the player of the week in the West yesterday – her third such award this season -- averaged 18 points per game in September for the Lynx, who went 4-1 to finish with a league-best 26-8 record. Moore also averaged 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals in the month, during which she shot 52.3 percent from the field.
The Lynx open their best-of-three Western Conference semifinal series with Seattle Friday at Target Center.
