A flurry of crashes on the system strangled traffic on several major routes, but at 8:30 a.m., most have cleared allowing traffic to recover.

A couple trouble spots remain, including southbound I-35W from Stinson Boulevard to I-94.  Westbound I-94 also is snug from Huron Boulevard over to Portland Avenue.

Traffic remains sluggish on  westbound Hwy. 610 where a wreck had blocked a lane at Noble Avenue for more than an hour. That crash cleared just after 8:15 a.m.

No speed records are being set on westbound I-494 between Cedar Avenue and Hwy. 100.  Eastbound I-494 is slow going from Hwy. 169 over to Portland Avenue in Bloomington.  Westbound Crosstown is tight from Cedar Avenue over to I-35W.
