While pondering our future over the holiday, we came to the conclusion that the doubters who demanded we SHOW OUR SOURCES were right and that we should resign immediately from the post of RandBall Proprietor.

But after a discussion about 5 minutes later, we decided instead to continue with our leave of absence. So instead of resigning, we will be back at full strength for a couple of days starting tomorrow, and then back for good on Monday, Jan. 4.

We understand there is quite a difference between a full resignation and missing a couple of days, and we apologize for manipulating everyone's heart in this way.

To make up for it, we offer these topics of discussion for the day:

Vikings: Will they be the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 or No. 4 seed?

Game tonight: Do we dare accept an invite to watch at a noted Bears bar? And what is the blueprint for a cold weather victory for a team and QB that aren't built for cold weather?

Giants: They no longer have anything to play for at the Metrodome next week. Good thing or bad thing?

Cowboys: They're playing about as well as anyone in the NFC right now and will win the division if they defeat the Eagles next week (which would also potentially help the Vikings). But still: do you fear Dallas in the playoffs?

Seattle: Second-worst team in football (Rams)?

Tim Brewster: He's reportedly going to get an extension. Whether it's an extension in name only (read: minimal buyout so that firing him after another year or two would have no real impact) remains to be seen. Are you on board with this?

Timberwolves: Watched the Wizards game. The Wolves looked pretty sharp. This Corey Brewer fella might be able to play a valuable role if he can sometimes shoot straight.
