The Chapel of Love at the Mall of America will perform its first same-sex wedding the minute gay marriage becomes legal in Minnesota.
A same-sex couple is scheduled to be wed at the chapel at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday.
Holli Bartelt and Amy Petrich of Wykoff have been together for two years. They recently became engaged in a photo booth at the Bloomington mall.
The couple will celebrate their wedding with Bartelt's two children, ages 9 and 10. The children will dress in blue and orange, the colors used to represent marriage equality.
Minneapolis and Clay County are among other locales that plan to marry same-sex couples as soon as Minnesota's law allowing gay marriage takes effect.
