Ryan Murphy is getting into the procedural business -- and he's bringing one of Minnesota's highest profile actors with him.

The creator of everything from "Glee" to "American Horror Story" will produce "9-1-1," a Fox procedural that explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations.

The concept may sound like old hat, but the teams both behind and in front of the camera make Tuesday's announcement intriguing.

Peter Krause, who grew up in Minnesota before going on to high-profile roles in "Sex Feet Under" and "Parenthood," will co-star alongside Oscar nominee Angela Bassett. McG ("Charlie's Angels") will direct the premiere, which will air sometime in 2018.

This isn't the first time Murphy had recruited Minnesotans. He almost single-handedly revived Jessica Lange's career by casting her in numerous projects including "Feud," which earned the Oscar winner yet another Emmy nomination.
