'Telling: Minnesota 2016'

The idea is simple: Collect veterans' stories and present them onstage, creating a record of their crucibles of battle and service, and what they witnessed. Project co-founders Jonathan Wei and Max Rayneard started their project in 2008, and have traveled around the country to localize it. We will hear stories from survivors of conflicts from the Vietnam era through Iraq, with vignettes from medics and nurses, female convoy gunners, deployed social workers, officers and enlisted women and men. All pour out their stories to a nation they served in the hopes that their sacrifices will not be forgotten. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 1 p.m. Sun., Guthrie Theater, 818 S. 2nd St., Mpls. Free. 612-377-2224 or guthrietheater.org.)

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
