7 p.m. vs. Fort Lauderdale

National Sports Center, Blaine • Ch. 45

Preview: It's a showdown for first place in the North American Soccer League. Minnesota (4-1-0) and Fort Lauderdale (4-1-0) are tied atop the NASL standings with 12 points each. The Strikers are in first place based on the first tiebreaker, goal differential.

United FC at a glance: After United lost 1-0 at defending champion New York on Monday, players and coach Manny Lagos said the disappointment did not linger into the short preparation time for Fort Lauderdale. Richard Garcia, the recent United acquisition and former English Premier League player and 2010 World Cup participant with Australia, is unlikely to make his debut as planned due to problems with his U.S. visa.

Fort Lauderdale at a glance: The team's 13 goals scored are five more than second-place United. Four different players found the back of the net last week, including Martin Nuñez and Fafa Picault. They lead Fort Lauderdale with three goals each this season.
