Minnesota Scene: Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse chosen

Jake Woodring and Emma Claire Fontenot of Eden Prairie were named the 2013 Minnesota Mr. and Ms. Lacrosse. Woodring led Eden Prairie to a 15-0 record and a No. 1 seed in the state tournament. The senior scored 29 goals and had seven assists in the regular season while adding six goals in two games of section play.

Fontenot tallied 37 regular-season goals while adding 13 goals and eight assists in three section tournament games, also helping her Eagles to a No. 1 seed in the state tournament.

The awards, selected by a panel of lacrosse community members, coaches and experts from the state are given to one senior high boys' lacrosse player and one senior high school girls' lacrosse player for their outstanding play throughout the season.
