Minnesota Scene: Gophers wrestlers drop dual at Nebraska

Ninth-ranked Nebraska won the first six bouts and went on to defeat the No. 21 Gophers 24-10 in a Big Ten wrestling dual Sunday in Lincoln, Neb.

The last three of those Cornhuskers victories came by a total of five points, but they built a 19-0 lead.

The Gophers (5-6, 1-2 Big Ten) picked up their first points of the dual at 174 pounds, when Nick Wanzek earned a 10-1 major decision over Dustin Williams. No. 4 Brett Pfarr (24-2) added a decision at 197, 5-2 over Derek White. No. 7 heavyweight Michael Kroells earned a 7-5 victory over No. 17 Collin Jensen.

Bemidji beats Anchorage

Jordan Heller scored twice and Michael Bitzer turned aside 28 of 29 shots faced to lead Bemidji State (7-9-4, 6-8-3 WCHA) to a 5-1 victory over host Alaska Anchorage on Saturday night.
